Celebrating 404 Day? Here are some events to attend in Atlanta this week.

From Big Boi to the 404 Collective, organizers host parties and experiences to celebrate the city leading up to April 4.

404 Day is Atlanta’s unofficial holiday on April 4 that recognizes community, pride in the city’s area code (404) and its cultural influence on the world.

Celebrities, event organizers, local businesses and major brands collaborate on hosting parties, interactive experiences and special events. It also gives residents a chance to put on their favorite Atlanta sports team memorabilia or apparel that calls out their neighborhoods.

The festivities started with footwear brand Adidas releasing the Superstar II and Adistar Control 5 as 404 Day’s official shoes. They also commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Summer Olympics.

If you’re planning to celebrate more — and perhaps show off your new 404 Day shoes — here’s a list of events and activities happening the rest of the week:

404 Collective’s 404 Day Weekend

The 404 Collective is organizing a slate of 404 Day weekend philanthropic and social activities.

Beginning Thursday, the group consisting of Atlanta Influences Everything, Trap Music Museum, Butter.ATL and Finish First Marketing Agency is hosting its third 404 Fund Scholarship Gala at Monday Night Garage and the after after-party at F1 Arcade.

Friday includes a day party at Midtown Social Restaurant and Bar and an evening rooftop party at the Retreat by the Gathering Spot. The 404 Collective’s second 404 Day parade, a 5K run, a block party at Underground Atlanta (ages 21 and over) and an evening celebration at the Stave Room are Saturday.

Mashup Sessions presents Southernplayalistic

Southernplayalistic is an intimate listening party that combines DJs, storytelling and nostalgia at the Waiting Room on Thursday.

Hosted by event series Mashup Sessions, the event named after Outkast’s 1994 debut album is recognizing the sounds, energy and narratives that made Atlanta into a music destination. Legendary DJs Ray Murray of Organized Noize and Nabs are joining Unruely, Kreme and the Canterbury Talez to spin deep cuts and classic records that will get the audience on its feet.

Impossible x Big Boi: 404 Taste the Block

Rapper Big Boi and plant-based burger company Impossible Foods are teaming to host a free, one-day block party at open-air food festival Smorgasburg Atlanta.

The Outkast member and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is performing some of the rap duo’s signature tunes and debuting the Big Boi Double Smash Burger at the protein alternative’s food truck.

Attendees can also experience food vendors, custom airbrushing, a photo booth, barbershop, glitter tattoo stations, drum line performance at 4:04 p.m. and a Pop-a-Shot hoop challenge.

404 Day 2026

404 Day is a free outdoor party at Piedmont Park on Saturday.

The daylong event features DJs Princess Cut, Babey Drew and Ron Pullman, among others spinning hip-hop, house and dance grooves. There’s an art show, plus food trucks, bars and a women in film and television panel in Magnolia Hall.

404 Day Party

404 Day Party brings indoor and outdoor vibes to Westside Motor Lounge on Saturday.

AJC senior lifestyle reporter Mike Jordan is leading a panel on Atlanta’s cultural significance on media, style and entertainment. Hip-hop memorabilia collector Larry “Nuface” Compton and photographer Sue Ross are curating installations.

There are appearances from politicians Byron Amos and Inga Willis, music provided by DJ Jelly, local vendors, a 404-inspired cocktail menu, I’m So ATL trivia and a live broadcast from iHeart Radio 96.1.

Southern Bass Revival

Southern Bass Revival is a dance party that revisits 1990s-era bass music at 404.exe on Saturday.

Held at the former MJQ Concourse, the event is a throwback that pays homage to Atlanta music origins and its pioneering sounds. Rapper DJ Taz is the special guest of honor.

Q Parker and Friends

R&B singer Q Parker is performing at City Winery Atlanta on Saturday. The founding member of Grammy-winning vocal quartet 112 is playing a set that includes the group’s classic singles “Only You” and “Cupid” and tracks from his sophomore album, “Evolution of Romance, Volume One.”

Old Atlanta v. New Atlanta: A Live Hip-Hop Culture Experience

404 Day: Old Atlanta v. New Atlanta brings together artists who laid the foundation for the city’s hip-hop scene with emerging talent at Big Boi’s Stankonia Studios.

Performances from rap legends Raheem the Dream and Playa Poncho will take natives and transplants on a trip down memory lane. The crowd will likely see surprise collaborations and guest appearances throughout the night.

Streetz 94.5 personality J Smoke is hosting, with DJs Big X and Jelly providing the soundtrack.

Slow Drag: The Quiet Storm

Classic R&B music lovers can check out Slow Drag, the monthly dance party dedicated to soulful ballads and Black intimacy, at Atlantucky on Saturday.

Titled The Quiet Storm, the event named after the late-night Black radio format is hosted by V-103 radio personality Joyce Littel and features DJs Jaycee and Empress Rah spinning 1970s-’90s slow jams and complimentary cocktails while supplies last from Greenwood Whiskey.
