‘It’s UATL’ podcast: Meet Dotte Com, Atlanta’s queen of drag

It’s been said that Atlanta is a Black queer mecca. That got us thinking: What makes the city a hub for the LGBTQ+ community and culture?
Now that it’s National Pride Month, it felt like the perfect time to have this conversation. And, who better to bring by the studio than Atlanta drag queen Dotte Com?
The entertainer won Atlanta’s Wussy Magazine 2025 Peachies award for Drag Queen of the Year. The annual ceremony honors LGBTQ+ performers and nightlife scene.
Dotte Com spoke to “It’s UATL” hosts DeAsia Paige and Najja Parker about how she found a performance niche, community and herself in the city’s drag space.
“That’s a whole entire other part of growing up queer, growing up gay — you have to kind of figure out how you fit in this scene with other gay people who also occupy your city as well,” she said.
