Attention Black scholars heading back to school in 2025:

UATL is looking for Black student voices to share their higher learning experiences in Atlanta, and we’re inviting you to join an elite cohort representing Black culture on campus.

We’ll use your experience to show former and future students what it’s like to matriculate and navigate this new era of life and learning. (AJC 2019)

Here’s what you’ll do:

As part of this group, you’ll be asked to give your opinions and share your experiences — from academics to extra-curricular activities and general life as a Black student.

We’ll reach out to you periodically to gather insights, and also invite you to roundtable conversations with other members of the group to compare and discuss how these issues show up at different schools. We’ll ask questions to find out how optimistic or concerned you are about your chosen major and career.

Do you plan on playing sports or joining the marching band? Are you hoping to join one of the Divine 9 Greek organizations? What’s dating on campus like these days? How are you navigating all the challenges of life outside of school while pursuing your educational goals? And, if we might ask, where’s the party at?

We’re here to hear it all, and we’ll use your experience to show former and future students what it’s like to matriculate and navigate this new era of life and learning. Your stories will become articles, videos, social media posts and live conversations, published at UATL.

And don’t worry — FAFSA and your school’s business office were not involved in the making of our form. :)

If you have further questions, please send an email to UATL@ajc.com — we’ll do our best to answer in a timely fashion.

Thank you for following and supporting UATL! We’re looking forward to sharing stories that matter to Georgia’s Black students.
