Atlanta artist paints MLB All-Star mural honoring Hank Aaron in Summerhill

A new mural is rising in Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood, just blocks from where Hank Aaron made baseball history. Painted by muralist George F. Baker III, the piece celebrates Summerhill’s legacy as a groundbreaking Black community and honors Aaron with a nod to his iconic number 44. Commissioned for the MLB All-Star Game and backed by Deer Park, the mural bursts with color and hometown references. For Baker, it’s a way to honor the past and reflect the pride still rooted in the neighborhood. Credits: AJC | Getty Images | Jim Alexander, Walter Stricklin / AJC
