'Come as you are': The Black wine lovers club breaking industry barriers

Everyone loves a good glass of wine. Enthusiasts want to know more. Yet the business can feel inaccessible. Enter "The Hue Society." Founded in 2017 by Tahiirah Habibi, the organization's goal is to increase Black, brown and Indigenous representation in the wine industry. In short, "The Hue Society" is making wine more inclusive. Habibi, an award-winning sommelier and entrepreneur, argues that Black people often get left behind in the wine space. Code-switching and assimilation felt like the norm for people like her. Eight years after founding "The Hue Society," she's created a space for wine professionals and enthusiasts to connect without the pressure to conform.
