She was told to call her wine instructor ‘master.’ So she built her own table

After being told she had to call her wine instructor “master,” Tahiirah Habibi knew the industry wasn’t built for her. The Atlanta-based wine professional founded “The Hue Society,” a national organization dedicated to increasing accessibility and inclusion in the wine industry for people of color. Habibi is flipping the script, creating inclusive wine spaces, celebrating Black joy and raising her daughter in a city that feels like home. Through “The Hue Society,” she’s proving you don’t need to follow tradition to make an impact, you just need purpose, community, and a good glass of wine.
