The real reason Black family reunions exist
Black families have long turned reunions into more than just tradition. They are a way to reclaim connection, history and joy. According to the Pew Research Center, Black Americans are more likely to hold large, regular family gatherings than any other ethnic group in the United States. That emphasis is rooted in a long legacy of separation, from slavery to migration, and the generations who fought to stay connected.
